Terms of Service
Last updated August 21, 2026. These terms govern your use of Spectre Studio and this website.
Agreement
By using spectredbstudio.com, joining the waitlist, creating an account, or installing Spectre Studio, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using Spectre for an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
The product
Spectre Studio is a local-first desktop studio for exploring and managing PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server databases. During early access the software may change, be incomplete, or be unavailable. Features shown on the site describe the product we are building and may ship later.
Waitlist and accounts
- Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a seat, a launch date, or a specific plan.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the email you provide and for keeping account credentials confidential.
- We may refuse, suspend, or close an account that violates these terms or poses a security risk.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Probe, disrupt, or overload the website or related services.
- Attempt to access another person’s account or data.
- Use Spectre to violate law, third-party rights, or your own database policies.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or misrepresent the product except as allowed by applicable law.
You remain responsible for the databases you connect to and for any SQL you run. Spectre does not replace backups, access control, or change review in your environment.
Intellectual property
Spectre, the site, and related branding are owned by us or our licensors. You keep ownership of your data, schemas, and queries. You grant us a limited license to use waitlist and account information only as needed to provide the service.
Disclaimer
The site and software are provided “as is”. We do not warrant that Spectre will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. AI suggestions can be wrong; always review SQL before you run it against production data.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost data, lost profits, or database downtime arising from your use of Spectre. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $0 if you have not paid.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. For questions, email hello@spectredbstudio.com.
